Monday, January 26, 7 pm at Town Office - Public Hearing the  Report  of  the town's Committee to Appraise Town Government.
The Committee was charged by the Select Board in Feb. 2008.  Seven distinguished members, led by Wick Skinner, analyzed operations of our town and compared our town to those of similar size.  The Report is available on the town website (stgeorgemaine.com) and also in printed form at the town office (free).  This report is the only comprehensive review of town government since 1987.   The analysis is clear, easy reading, and backed by an impressive and useful appendix.  Based on the elapse of time since the 1987 review,  this Report should be in your hands now, and on your civic shelf as a reference for years to come.  If you cannot come to the Hearing on Jan. 26, then you should write your comments to the Select Board and ask that your comments be included in the public record related to the Report.
